BUCCs' own Cadman Turner will be in action, wrestling this Saturday night 15th June in Bendigo at The Zone. "Bendigo Backlash" features former WWE superstars Orlando Jordan and Paul London, and has been touring the state over the past month.
The event is already receiving extensive media coverage, and Cadman will feature on Star FM on Friday 14th June from 8:30am. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for kids at the door, or contact 0432 798 904. If you have ever witnessed the annual spectacular of Cadman vs Miggy Podosky on Mad Monday, you will not want to miss Cadman making his Bendigo professional wrestling debut this Saturday night. Hi everyone,
The Club is looking for a curator at Harry Trott Oval for 2013/2014. Peter Behrens, regarded as the best curator in the BDCA, is stepping down from the role after many years of service, and we thank him for his outstanding contribution. The wicket square at the ground has never been better, and for that we have Peter to thank. The curator role involves the following: - top dressing the square in late September - maintenance of the wicket table through the cricket season, including watering and fertilising - overseeing the covering of the wicket square each week - rolling and preparing a wicket for each weekend during the cricket season The curator is provided with all of the tools available to carry out the role, and a remuneration package is attached to the position. If you enjoy cricket, have some spare time available throughout the week, and want to get involved with a great Club, we would love to hear from you. You can contact myself if you would like to talk further about the role. Regards, David Bicknell Bendigo United Cricket Club E: bendigounited@club.cricketvictoria.com W: www.bendigounited.com After many years of outstanding service, Leo Bruinier is standing down as Club Treasurer.
We are now seeking a replacement for Leo for the 2013/2014 season. The role involves managing the banking of money taken through the canteen, the banking of cheques, the payment of invoices and maintenance of the general ledger of accounts. It is an honorary role, and one that is vital to ensure the ongoing success of the Club. In addition, the Club is seeking expressions from interested parties to join its general Committee for 2013/2014. We would be grateful for any assistance that you might be willing to offer. I can be contacted to discuss this further on 0418 507725. The Club would be grateful to hear from you should you have an interest in either role. Regards, Hi everyone,

David Bicknell Club President Bendigo United Cricket Club E: bendigounited@club.cricketvictoria.com W: www.bendigounited.com Hi everyone,
Please support Pink Stumps Day on Saturday 23rd February 2013. Our Under 13A side and our 1st XI team will participate in the day, where every dollar raised makes a difference. Your donation will help the McGrath Foundation to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as to increase breast awareness in young Australian women. Please head to our website where you can simply click and donate. We have some great activities planned to supplement the cricket on Pink Stumps Day. The Club is hosting a Ladies Day at the Leo Shanahan Rooms from 4pm, with all ladies encouraged to come along and have a glass of champagne and some nibblies at $10 a head, with all proceeds going to the McGrath Foundation. We are encouraging as many ladies – or men – to attend and enjoy a drink and watch the cricket. Thank you to the Brougham Arms Hotel for throwing their full support behind this initiative. Kick on later that night to our Club function at the Bendigo Club where Patrick Naughtin will host “Perfect Match” from 7:30pm. Have a meal and a few drinks, wear a splash of pink, and join in the fun. We will have more McGrath Foundation fundraising activity that night as well. A flyer is available for download here. The cost is $40 for a two course meal, drink on arrival, and a great night of entertainment. RSVP details are available on the flyer. Start time is 7:30pm, 23rd February 2013 and Patrick Naughtin tells me that the gags will definitely deliver! On the cricket front two of our junior players, Jasper Stewart and Jack Bouwmeester, were both selected in the Northern Rivers Under 14 side which took part in a state competition during January. Check out the junior site for more information on their achievements. In addition, well done to Matt Pinniger and veteran Club President David Bicknell on their respective centuries against Golden Square last round. Good luck to all teams as the finals approach. The Club is pleased to announce its support of Pink Stumps Day on Saturday 23rd February 2013.

Your donation will help the McGrath Foundation to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia, as well as to increase breast awareness in young Australian women. Event coordinator Wendy Sims said that after last year’s successful launch of Pink Stumps Day with the BUCC Under 11A side, the natural extension was to have both a junior and senior team involved. “This season we have the Under 13A team supporting Pink Stumps Day, and for the first time we have the 1st XI team participating. After the junior side raised just under $2,000 for the McGrath Foundation last season, we hope to better that with the support of both the junior and senior teams. It is a great cause, and one that I hope everyone at the Club supports.” Aside from the cricket, there are some great activities planned to supplement the cricket on Pink Stumps Day. Finally, a big thank you to everyone for your support of our 160th Reunion weekend. The current player and supporter group, and the many past players and supporters who come back to the Club made the weekend a great success. A copy of the event booklet is available for download from the website, and we have posted some photos from the night as well. Thank you to WIN Television and the Bendigo Advertiser for their extensive coverage which generated record hits to the website and gave our Club and our sponsors some terrific exposure.
